For decades, I dedicated my life to high-risk security, military contracting, and private protection. I placed myself in harm’s way to safeguard others, consistently running toward danger rather than away from it. Being under fire became routine, and for years, I accepted it as part of the job.
I trained and led elite security teams, military personnel, and law enforcement officers, including FBI agents, in real-world combat scenarios, weapons mastery, and tactical operations. Through my company, Special Protective Services International (SPSI), I managed high-stakes operations, including protecting high-profile individuals and recovering multimillion-dollar assets. As a SLED-certified professional (South Carolina Law Enforcement Division), I held arresting powers equal to a deputy sheriff on the sites I protected. My career spanned executive protection, asset recovery, and private military contracting, working in some of the world’s most dangerous environments.
In my work, I collaborated with SWAT teams, federal agencies, military special forces, and private security firms, training operatives in advanced tactics like close-quarters combat and tactical breaching. While my career was marked by high-risk operations, it was also defined by violence—something I confronted and managed every day. Over the years, I contracted with more than fifty nightclub establishments across the United States, sometimes stepping into the role of General Manager. Many of these locations had histories of homicide, but my reputation for turning these businesses around spoke for itself. In my world, violence wasn’t the answer—it was the question. Yet, some of those experiences still linger as reminders of the intensity of my work.
But that chapter has closed.
In 2012, I retired from high-risk security to prioritize my family. With young children at home, I could no longer bear the stress of wondering whether I would return each day. In the years that followed, I shifted my focus to running training programs and gyms, helping others refine their skills, until closing those ventures in 2018. That same year, I earned my Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt under Easton Martial Arts, capping off decades of training in various combat and self-defense systems.
A New Chapter
Today, I embrace a quieter life as a writer and content creator, living simply in a small apartment. My mission is to share the lessons I’ve learned from a life filled with both challenges and growth—PTSD, physical injuries, difficult choices, and personal transformation. Through my writing, I aim to offer insights that can help others navigate their own struggles and triumphs.
While my background in security and combat informs much of my work, my interests span a broad range. One day, I might analyze military strategy; the next, explore the philosophy of Hinduism or the ritual of drinking chai in India. My writing reflects my journey—past and present—but I am not defined by it. I am continually evolving, seeking new perspectives, and expanding my understanding of the world.
If you’re reading this, I invite you to join me on this journey. Whether you’re here for my expertise in security, my insights on philosophy, or simply to connect with someone who has lived a unique life, I welcome you. Together, we can learn, grow, and explore new ideas.
If you’d like to support my work, I encourage you to follow me on YouTube, read my blog, engage with my articles, and become part of the conversation. Through this community, we can create a space for shared learning and discovery.
This isn’t just my story—it’s ours. Let’s see where this journey takes us.
